Naiads are the hydriads of running freshwaters, like streams, rivers, creeks, etc. They originate in Greek mythology and appear in several old fairy tales.

In Akkadian mythology Humbaba was a monstrous giant of immemorial age raised by Utu, the  Sun. Humbaba was also the guardian of the Cedar Forest where the  gods lived.
He is the one that Gilgamesh and Enkidu set out to find and kill in the Cedar Forest, in order to show how badass Gilgamesh is. Humbaba also makes appearances in various Final Fantasy games.
